What You Will Learn
This is a structured, 12-hour course designed to educate participants on the dangers of impaired driving and prevent repeat offenses. Key topics include:
The effects of alcohol and other drugs on driving.
Texas laws concerning DWI.
The progression of alcoholism and drug dependency.
Personal action plans to avoid driving while impaired.
Note: This course is often required as a condition of probation or to lift a driver's license suspension. You must complete the program within 180 days of the date your probationary period begins.
The Texas Defensive Driving Course (also known as a Driver Safety Course) is a certified course that helps drivers either get a traffic ticket dismissed or qualify for an auto insurance discount.
Why Take This Course?
Ticket Dismissal (Deferred Disposition): If you received a moving violation in Texas, the court may allow you to complete this course to dismiss the ticket and prevent points from being added to your driving record.
