The Required Course for a DWI Conviction

The DWI Education Program is a state-mandated course for individuals who have been convicted of a first-time Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) offense in Texas.

Note: This course is often required as a condition of probation or to lift a driver's license suspension. You must complete the program within 180 days of the date your probationary period begins.

The Smart Way to Lower Insurance & Dismiss a Ticket

The Texas Defensive Driving Course (also known as a Driver Safety Course) is a certified course that helps drivers either get a traffic ticket dismissed or qualify for an auto insurance discount.

Why Take This Course?

Ticket Dismissal (Deferred Disposition): If you received a moving violation in Texas, the court may allow you to complete this course to dismiss the ticket and prevent points from being added to your driving record.
Insurance Discount: Many Texas auto insurance providers offer a premium discount of up to 10% for up to three years upon successful completion of the course. Check with your insurance agent to confirm your eligibility!
